Shoe is the footwear stands for to give protection and comfort to one’s feet. The remains of he earliest shoes in the world are found in 1938 in Oregon, America, and they date back to the time of 8000 to 7000 BC. The earliest shoes were of leather. One leather piece would mostly used to make one shoe with laces to tie them up to make them fixed with feet. The parts of shoes are soles (the lowest part), insoles (a leather layer inside shoes), outsole (a later layer under insole), midsoles (layer between insole and out sole), heel (back and raised part of the shoes), eyelet (small holes for laces), vamp (front upper part of the shoes) and quarter (hind part of the shoes covering heels and joining vamp) etc.
Shoes are of different varieties, in men’s shoes there are; Oxford, Slip-ons, Derby, Monk-straps etc, and in the women’s side there is High-heeled footwear, Mules, Court shoes, Ballet flats, Sneaker boot etc. There are shoes that may be used by both men and women alike, e.g. Boat shoes, Espadrilles, Sandals, Slippers etc.

Oxford
This is the laced shoes the having some V-shaped slit and with low heel. This is also called “Balmorals” in Ireland and Scotland where it first appeared in the fashion. This is basically after the great castle of Queen in Balmoral Scotland, purchased by Queen Victora in 1852. This has been a formal shoe but now its varieties consist of some casual types for the casual dresses too.
Slip-ons
These are the flat, lace-less shoes. It first appeared in fashion in 1930s in Norway. There are available in the vast variety in the great many colours. Its American kinds are loafer or slippers. Due to being lace-less its front part is usually small as compare to oxford.
Derby
Its vamp is the single piece of leather and it’s a long one as compare to slip-ons.
Monk-straps
These are shoes like derby, but with no laces rather strips and a buckle.

High-healed shoes are mostly used by the ladies. They are used mainly to enhance the appearance by getting some more height because of heels. This type of shoes had been worn by the women in great rank in ancient Egypt down in the 3500 BC and the fashion still lives.
